24X Irregular Plural Flash Cards - double sided with polka dot print on one side. These are flash cards which are useful to use with Entry Level 3 learners. In the exam, learners are expected to write the plural form of a word. They will be expected to know a list of common plural nouns that don’t follow the usual spelling conventions. Each singular noun and its irregular plural form is on one of the 24 cards. You could add an extension activity and turn this into a matching game ( match the noun to the plural form). Learners could also create a sentence which includes each word.

This is a 31 page PowerPoint which can be used as an introduce your class to Dennis Kelly’s play DNA. The PPT contains eight separate options that can be used as an introductory lesson to the play. The students are to make predictions about what the play is about and what happens in the play. Front book cover analysis with 9 questions to answer relating to the front cover. Taboo - a word, guessing relating to the play. The objective of the game is for a student to sit with their back to the interactive whiteboard. The other students give the student clues and they have to guess the word on the board behind them. Word Scramble - Instead of the teacher giving students a short summary of the play, students will be asked to find this out for themselves by unscrambling the letters on the board. First Lines - Students will make predictions to what the play is about by reading and analysing the first few lines and answering 6 set questions. Students will watch a short news report which relates to the topic of the play. They will then make predictions about the play based on this report. Headline - play prediction task Pictionary - Each group will be given a copy of identical pictures. The aim is for the student’s group to work together to connect the pictures and try to predict what the play may be about. 5 minutes, 5 facts - Task

I created this task for the Poetry Anthology revision lesson. The learners were asked to write a short summary of each of the fifteen poems and write a short overview of the context of that poem on the back of the card. This was created for my learners after they had learnt how to format the text. This is not a full lesson ( I have a full report lesson available on my online store). A task sheet to help students reasearch and revise this poem.

This PPT gives an overview of the Unseen Poetry exam. The students are then shown a marking guide for Q1 and will use this to mark three student’s responses: Grade 5 to Grade 9. This lesson was created using my own ideas and other ideas/resources from free PPTs on TES and the CGP Unseen Poetry Guide. Thankyou for sharing your work with the TES community.

I created this PPT as my students were struggling with recalling quotes from the anthology. I found four different exam style questions and decided to make this task. It helps them to think on their feet when choosing a poem to compare theirs to, to see examples of questions that they could get in their exam and also tests them on whether they can recall quotes under pressure. I asked them to do the following: Read the exam question and think of a poem that you can compare this poem to. Write down why you would use this poem as a comparison. Read the question again and write down one quote you would use in your response when comparing these poems.

I created this task for an Inspector Calls revision lesson. The learners were asked to write an overview of each character and their key quotes on the back of the cards. There are also revision cards on the plot summary, themes and context for them to fill in. I have also included blank revision cards.
